April 22

Hello Family!
How is every one doing? I can't believe it is already Monday or P DAY for me! :). Went to the Provo temple session at about 7 am this morning, it was wonderful!! By the way, mom: if you could tell grandma and grandpa that I might be there at the same time next monday that would be great!! Anyway, the MTC is wonderful and excited and hard and emotional all in one bundle of joy. I am soo glad that I am here right now that I would not change it for anything in the world!!!! I am learning so much here spiritually, and with the scriptures. At first it was crazy and I'd be thinking "What is going on!?" or something like "Can you slow down?" But, I love it! It was way fast at first, but I believe I adjusted to it and feel like P Day is a little slow. We didn't have much to do today, so we kinda just wrote some letters and what not :).
After Orientation and the briefest tour of my life of the campus and off I was at my first class!! It was way exciting! I did a online lesson and then met our teachers. I am rooming with 6 sisters, which includes me, one is my companion Sister Morgan; the others are Sister Lews and Sister Landeen, Sister Myler and Sister Black. Sister Morgan, Sister Landeen and I are all going to San Diego!! The other three are going to Louiville, Kentuckee! All 6 of us girls are in one district with 4 Elders. ( I'll let ya know that it still is kinda hard not to call them guys sometimes ;) )The two going to San Diego are: Elder Palmer (district leader) and Elder Felt. The others are going to Kentuckee also: Elder Davis and Elder Burns. They are a hoot! They are so great, and I don't think any of us sisters would exchange these Elders for the world!! I think our district, the 10 of us, have grown into some wierd abstract family; there is a special bond between all of us that makes it so unique. One of our teachers said that she hadn't seen such and awesome group of missionaries since she started teaching. Anyway, I love my district and classes. My two regular teachers are Brother Corbitt and Sister Mullen. Each teacher has an investigator profile they do so we can practice; Brother Corbitt is Rob ( this is my companion and I's investigator) and Sister Mullen is Claudia. It is wonderful practice to teach them. I also learned that the role plays we do can be an amazing experience if you think it is real. It is an unreal experience to be on the part of the investigator, if taken seriously you could learn how they would actually feel and how you could handle that kind of investigator. One of the coolest classes here are the Zone teaching ones. I've had 3 different teachers for that, each one teaching in a unique way that is easy to learn from. The first one, wanted to emphasis what it meant to help an investigator and the bottom line theme was how could you teach anything and make it so a child could understand? He did a demonstration, where he had a chair across the room with someone holding a picture of Christ and across the room was him sitting in a chair, he didn't now anything. We were supposed to help him, by not touching/picking him up/ or forcing or anything physical contact, to get him to the picture of Christ. Essentially we had to teach him everything about walking and all that. Make sense? So it started off with our district (because it was just our district in the room) trying to teach him how to sit up and everything from where we were sitting in our desks. I soon realized that he wasn't going to learn that way,we had to show him; Be An Example. Another sister had the same idea; so I moved a chair right next to him and began to show him and talk him through sitting up. I eventually with a lot of patience got him to stand and a little bit later we were slowly walking towards Christ. For one part of it I had to explain what his knee was so he could bend it, I tried bending mine and stuff to show him; but do you realize how hard that is in a skirt? On top of it he still didn't understand and it was clear that someone had to show him on him where his knees were. lol! So i asked one of the Elders to help me with that, so they could physically touch his knee. Then we both walked to Christ, until the teacher was able to touch the picture. I learned a lot from that demonstration. I learned that I was more patient than I ever thought I was, I didn't think of myself at all, the only thought going through my brain was how I could explain and show him how to do all that stuff. It was incredible! Another thing was that the simple things that we don't even think about when we walk or sit up, had to be explained. Which is just like the gospel; for us we don't think of the small and simple things as being something someone doesn't understand.
Well, I am learning a lot here at the MTC. A lot of things that I didn't think I was capable of too. I have had teachers thank me for giving such great spritual comments and others tell me that I am patient, kind. loving, and always try to think the best in others. I'm not trying to boast, but it was suprising to me also that I was like that. It was something I did naturally with out thinking about it, but I guess stood out from other people.
Anyway let me know how all ya are doing!! If you can think of any awesome experiences to tell me, please do!!
mom: if you could send me my polka dot skirt with the shoes and slips that would be great!!

Everybody: How are you? Tell me anything!! Oh! and Dear Elder is awesome for the MTC; because its kinda cool to get a letter randomly on any day of the week. Oh! and I can email friends and family. Just putting that out there that if anybody besides family wants to email or dear elder or write they can! Oh another thing, can I have grandma and grandpa Twitchell's address?and jeans address. I can't think of anything else I need right now, but if you do ;). I love ya all and hope to hear from you soon!!!! Let me know if you would like a hand written letter next time or something..

Well, I'll be anxious to hear back from everybody. Try to use Dear Elder if you could! :)
Oh and colbsters: I'm glad your boss is keeping ya!
With much love,
Sister Twitchell ;)
"You cannot recieve Revelation (or the Lord's help) unless you want it!!" Sister Mullen
"You represent Christ, don't be afraid." and "Invite them to baptized in the way that Christ would, if you are too afraid to do this then you are the ones blocking them from coming unto Christ." "Keep who you are. Teach how you would teach, not how your teacher or anyone else would." those three are from one of my favorite teachers: Brother Starkkie. :)
Love ya!!
